Professional Indemnity & Public Liability cover for Building Inspectors
The underwriting standards set by the insurer have recently become more rigorous. Building inspectors must now demonstrate the following:
- Hold a current Builder’s Licence or hold qualification/s to obtain a builder’s license; OR
they have completed a Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) with 5 years hands on experience; OR
be a Qualified Architect, Surveyor or Structural Engineer;
- Must have completed more than 10 inspections AND
- Hold and can reference as needed, a copy of AS4349.1-2010;
- Pre-Inspection Agreements are issued to, and executed by, customers prior to each property inspection.
The following Prerequisites are required in Addition to the Proposal Form being completed
- Copy of your Current Builders Licence (back and front)
- Copy of your Certificate IV in Building and Construction
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Copy of your Pest License (if you are conducting pest inspections)
- Copy of your Units 8 and 10 (if you are conducting pest inspections)
Before continuing to the Proposal Form:
